Pre-K Prayer Garden

This group has Jesus in their hearts! We have worked together to create our own little prayer garden outside of our classroom! We painted our own heart garden pavers, planted flowers and placed our statue of Jesus in a very special place. The back of our garden pavers list the people and things that we want to remember when we visit our prayer garden!

Easter Time is Here!

We have been busy preparing for Lent.  The kiddos created their own books about Lent and have LOVED making crosses out of anything and everything that they can find around the room! We had a chilly but fun Easter egg hunt day!

DINOSAURS

Our dinosaur theme was a big hit! We loved our dramatic play area complete with a volcano, a dinosaur fossil dig, fossil investigation area and loved pretending that we were paleontologists! One of our sweet families sent in dinosaur eggs for us to crack open. We also measured ourselves to a life size TRex footprint and almost froze trying to get our baby dinosaurs out of their frozen eggs! We were absolutely at how big the dinosaurs were in compared to our school building and loved reading lots of nonfiction books to hear the theories behind what happened to the dinosaurs!

Walking Rainbows AND Dancing Milk

You can probably tell that we LOVE science! Here are our walking rainbow and dancing milk experiments!

SNOW FUN DAY

The Pre-K kiddos came to school dressed in their boots, hats, gloves and snow pants! We had a fabulous time first making snow angels on the baseball field. We then headed to the front parking lot and turned the parking snow piles into our own sled hills!

Our Class Rocks!

We rocked out learning about geodes! Then using a hammer complete with safety glasses-we were able to crack open our own geodes to see the beautiful crystals inside!

Celebrating Valentine's Day with Some Science Fun!

CELEBRATING OUR 100TH DAY OF SCHOOL

We had a wonderful time celebrating our 100th day of school! Each student brought in 100 of 'something' from home to show their classmates! The kiddos also made 100 day crowns, built towers with 100 cups, and excersided their way to 100!  Their favorite 100th day activity was finding the 100 Hershey Kisses hidden around the classroom!

100th Day Fun!

'SNOW' EXCITED TO BE BACK IN SCHOOL
We are so very excited to be back at school with our friends! The students came back to new winter themed centers and sensory tubs. They especially love our dramatic play area where they can sell hot chocolate, ice fish in our tent, shovel snow, or make a snowman.

GOING VIRTUAL
Our school moved temporarily to virtual learning this week.  We are looking forward to getting back to in person soon! We are hoping that the community and state numbers will decrease because these littles were rocking their masks and being safe in our classroom!

Our first virtual week was a success. Look at these rock stars and those smiles! We had so much fun ZOOMING and they are doing amazing with their take home packets on Seesaw! I miss them and can't wait to get back to in person with all of my little turkeys!

Virtual Fun
During the weeks we were doing virtual learning we had a lot of fun! From giggles and fun on Zoom meetings to daily updates from our class Elf Skittles.  Skittles would leave a daily "kindness challenge" for the kids.  The last day before break, Skittles had to return to the North Pole to help Santa.  He surprised the kiddos by appearing on our Zoom meeting all the way from the
North Pole! :)

Halloween Science Fun!
We had the absolute best time with our elephant toothpaste
Jack-O'Lantern! First we voted on what type of face we wanted for our pumpkin.  After Mrs. Crawford carved the Jack-O'-Lantern we headed outside for some messy fun! We mixed, yeast, hydrogen peroxide, food coloring, water and dish soap together. This resulted in our exploding Jack-O'-Lantern!

PUMPKINS and HALLOWEEN
Pumpkins, pumpkins everywhere! We have had so much fun learning about pumpkins the last couple of weeks. We conducted our own pumpkin investigation and discovered that pumpkins actually float! Each of them chose a pumpkin, drew a pumpkin face and loved getting to paint them! Our favorite part though was carving out the seeds and pulp.  Seeds were flying everywhere-but they sure had fun! We saved some of the seeds to plant later. The kiddos have also enjoyed their new Halloween themed centers, including write the room googley eyes, our sticky spider web tweezer game, roll the dice and add the spider rings and following a recipe to make their own witches brew!

DOWN ON THE FARM
We have had a fun time learning about the farm! Our math, literacy and dramatic play areas all reflect are farm theme! They have really loved the dramatic farm play area. In the dramatic play area they pretend to be farmers and must complete their daily chore list. As they complete a chore, they check it off on their list. The chore list includes,  milking the cow (AKA a disposable glove filled with water and a hole poked in the finger so they can actually "milk" the cow :)), collecting and counting the eggs from our hen, harvesting the vegetables, feeding the chickens, taking the vegetables to the market, herding the sheep, and taking care of the horses and pigs. They also climb into our cardboard tractor to plow the fields!

MONARCH BUTTERFLIES
We were so very excited that all 6 of our Monarch butterflies emerged from their chrysalis'!  The class was surprised how much our 6 little caterpillars could eat in a day! We excitedly watched them eat milkweed plant after milkweed plant! After they were full, we observed them climb to the top of our butterfly cage and form their "J." As the day progressed their exoskeleton became the hard, protective chrysalis. Patiently waiting for 14 days . . . our butterflies are here!
Mrs. Wishy Washy!
Mrs. Wishy-Washy is one of our all time favorite stories! We loved reading the book and then acting out the story!

DOING SCIENCE EXPERIMENTS IS ONE OF OUR VERY FAVORITE THINGS!
Here we are making a rain cloud with shaving cream and food coloring.  We also mixed colors with food coloring, baking soda and vinegar!
