Dinosaurs, Walking Rainbows and OOBLECK
DINOSAURS: We had a wonderful time discovering all about dinosaurs. We had a dinosaur dig area complete with fossils, eggs, rocks and minerals. We had a research area to record our dino dig findings. We also loved pretending to be scientists, and paleontologists. Another one of our favorite dino activities was to dig out a frozen dinosaur fossil.
WALKING RAINBOW: Our class created a walking rainbow! You can see Jonah and Preston observing the rainbow.
OOBLECK: We read the story of Bartholomew and the Oobleck. The class was amazed that Mrs. C. had the magical Oobleck recipe. They had so much fun playing in the oobleck and predicting what the oobleck was made of.
Celebrating our 100th Day of School!
We had so much fun celebrating our 100th day of school! Some of their favorite activities from the day included the 100 crawl through door sign waiting for them in the morning, finding 100 numbered Hershey kisses hidden around the room and then coloring in the corresponding number on a number chart and our 100's day snack where they counted out 10 of 10 different snacks! Happy 100's Day!
Winter, Snowmen and Ice Skating!
We have jumped right back into our routine with a fun winter theme! The pre-kers are loving our winter dramatic play area! In this center they can make a snowman, ice fish for letters, ice skate and sell wintery treats! Our other favorite centers have been searching for letters in our snowy sensory tub, practicing writing our snowball letters in the sand trays, and snowman playdough. Our math centers also have a fun snowman theme!
Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas!
We have had a wonderful December preparing for the birth of Jesus!
We created beautiful Advent wreaths and have been reading a different Christmas story each day! Our days have been filled with playing in our dramatic play Santa's workshop, creating our Christmas gifts for our parents and practicing our Christmas program!
